|a U ovom se radu definira pojam 3DTV sustava, njihov razvoj od 19. stoljeća te principi na kojima se zasniva njihov rad. Kao najvažniji princip trodimenzionalnog prikaza obrađena je percepcija dubine kroz stereoskopiju, njezini principi rada te uvjeti za stereoskopski ljudski vid. Analiziraju se najpoznatije metode stereoskopije, uključujući 3D bez pomagala, autostereograme, stereoskop te moderne 3D sustave poput naočala s aktivnim blendama, polarizacijskih 3D sustava te HMD i sustava za virtualnu stvarnost. Ispitivanjem subjektivnog dojma na uzorku ljudi ocjenjuje se kvaliteta slike i dojam dubine pri prikazu trodimenzionalnih scena, korištenjem 3D sustava s aktivnim blendama i sustava za virtualnu stvarnost. Rezultati se analiziraju i predlažu se rješenja za otklanjanje otkrivenih nedostataka koji utječu na subjektivnu kvalitetu slike i dojam dubine.

|a This paper defines the term 3DTV system, its development from the 19th century until today and the principles of operation. As the most important mechanism of three dimensional display, depth perception through stereoscopy is analyzed, along with its principles of operation and requirements for human stereoscopic vision. Most popular methods of stereoscopy are analyzed, including freeviewing, autostereograms, stereoscope and modern 3D display systems like shutter glasses, polarized 3D systems and HMD / Virtual Reality devices. By surveying the subjective impressions from a sample of test subjects, image quality and depth simulation is rated for an active shutter 3D system and a Virtual Reality HMD device. Results are analyzed and solutions are suggested for improving upon detected causes of low subjective image quality ratings.
