|a Sažetak na hrvatskom: Autentifikacija je obično prvi korak u interakciji čovjeka sa informacijskim sustavom. Zahtjevi na sigurnost, pouzdanost i razinu korisničkog iskustva mehanizama koji tu autentifikaciju omogućuju u novije je vrijeme u porastu zbog sve veće isprepletenosti informacijskih sustava sa svakodnevnim životom modernog čovjeka. U ovom radu napravljen je pregled najkorištenijih autentifikacijskih mehanizama aplikacijskog sloja TCP/IP modela u web aplikacijama, opisani su njihovi autentifikacijski tijekovi te su izložene i tehnologije o kojima ti mehanizmi ovise. U praktičnom dijelu rada implementirani su neki od opisanih mehanizama za autentifikaciju na informacijskom sustavu za testiranje studenata Edgar razvijenom na Fakultetu elektrotehnike i računarstva, gdje se i koristi na kolegijima.

|a Sažetak na engleskom: Authentication is usually the first step in the interaction between a user and an information system. Security, reliability and user experience requirements of mechanisms that enable the authentication are rising lately because of the immersion of information systems in the life of a modern human. As a part of this work, the overview of the most used authentication mechanisms of the TCP/IP application layer has been given, their authentication flows have been described and the technologies they rely on have been inspected. In the applied part of the work some of the described authentication mechanisms have been implemented on Edgar, the system for student testing developed on the Faculty of electrical engineering and computing, where it is also used in classes.
