|a Opis kolegija:
Polazna je premisa da se američka književnost 20. stoljeća opsesivno i nostalgično vraća određenim «traumatičnim» temama i epizodama iz nacionalne povijesti. Kroz odabrane tekstove, koji žanrovski variraju od tzv. postmodernih povijesnih romana do «crtane pripovijesti» (s temama od ropstva, zapretene etničke povijesti, političkih atentata do svojevrsne «amerikanizacije» holokausta), naglasak će biti na načinu nadilaženja amnezije ili prorađivanju traumatičnih trenutaka iz povijesti, dok će čitanja biti utemeljena na modelima osmišljavanja (kolektivnog, društvenog) pamćenja, npr. kod M. Halbwachsa, P. Noraa ili B. Andersona te teorije traume, npr. kod S. Freuda, M. Hirsch, C. Caruth i D. LaCapre.
