|a Magistarski rad «Politikom utemeljeno upravljanje kvalitetom usluge u UMTS mreži»
obraðuje model upravljanja kvalitetom IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) usluga temeljen na
politici, pri èemu se pod pojmom politike podrazumijeva skupina pravila kojima se definiraju
kriteriji dohvaæanja i upotrebe mrežnih resursa. U samom radu razmotren je mehanizam
kontrole IMS usluga definiran od strane forume The 3rd Generation Partnership Project
(3GPP) s posebnim naglaskom na funkcionalnost Policy Decision Function (PDF) mrežnog
elementa sustava IMS. Magistarski rad obraðuje izvedbu upravljaèkih suèelja Gq mrežnog
elementa PDF, te definira osnovnu skupinu upravljaèkih poruka suèelja Gq potrebnih za
potpunu funkcionalnost PDF elementa u skladu s 3GPP preporukama.

|a MSc thesis "Policy based QoS management in UMTS network" describes the concept for
quality of service provisioning in the IMS environment. Described QoS management of the
IMS services is based on policy, where the term policy stands for the set of roles that defines
the criteria for network resource management. MSc thesis describes the QoS management
defined by 3GPP (The 3rd Generation Partnership Project) forum with the focus on the Policy
Decision Function network element with Go and Gq interfaces. QoS mechanism described in
MSc thesis is based on DiffServ technology. The main focus of this MSc thesis is the
definition of the Gq interface and the basic set of messages necessary for providing complete
quality of service management for end-to-end IMS services. Definition of the policy based
QoS management concept is followed with the proposition of the implementation scenarios
and simulation model of defined QoS concept.
